As part of Deer Lakes Middle School’s Veterans Day activities, Master Sergeant Chris Heaney of the United States Air Force Reserves spoke to students in Mrs. Sue Fink’s sixth grade World Geography classes about his day-to-day responsibilities.

We also took a photo of one of Mrs. Fink’s classes using Master Sgt. Heaney’s night vision scope and other pictures of students trying on a variety of safety equipment that he has used in service.

In addition to Mster Sgt. Heaney’s visit, Mr. Gigler's Middle School Measurement and Design STEM class designed, measured and laid out stakes/string to allow for flags to be placed by all the Middle School Social Studies classes in honor of Veterans Day 2024. The design replicates the Arlington National Cemetery.
